Screening candidate genes and exploring their functions related to ectomycorrhizal formation in Populus tomentosa
要旨本文 Ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi are preferentially form symbionts with many woody plants. In our previous study, 173 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of Populus tomentosa involved in the initial stage of ECM formation by Cenococcum geophilum were identified by RNA-sequencing. Of these DEGs, the expression of four genes (PtPE15, PtPE17, PtGPS1104, and PtGST2) in wild-type and ECM seedlings were assessed by real-time quantitative PCR in this research. To reveal these four genes how to regulate ECM formation, overexpression and RNAi methods were used to obtain mutant seedlings of P. tomentosa. The regenerated transgenic seedlings are in progress. The inoculation experiment and the exploration of functions of the four genes will be conducted in the near future. The result of this research may provide some insight in the ECM formation in poplar.
