Potential Carbon from the Mangrove Forest Rehabilitation in West Java, Indonesia.

Mangroves are important to coastal ecosystems. Mangroves shelter large terrestrial and aquatic organisms and protect the coast. Due to their conservation significance and carbon stock. Mangrove planting and rehabilitation are rising in Indonesia, notably West Java. Karangsong ecotourism, a small mangrove rehabilitation site, is on West Java's northern shore, whereas Batukaras is on the southern coast. We use field surveys, transects, plots, and UAV remote sensing to identify the mangrove and its properties. Allometric formulas analyze carbon content, while SVMs process remote sensing data. Karangsong's mangrove rehabilitation project increased mangrove covers to 56 ha (11,531 tons) and Batukaras 20.6 ha (3,867.2 tons) potential carbon. Small-scale mangrove rehabilitation improves ecological services, land stability, and climate change sequestration. Thus, small-scale mangrove planting by local communities should be encouraged. |
