発表題目 Enhancing Forest Education Through VR: Addressing TLS Challenges in Tropical Rainforests

要旨本文 This study aims to develop an immersive virtual reality (VR) experience using terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) point cloud data to explore the structure and biodiversity of tropical rainforests. The research integrates high-resolution TLS data, processed with Faro Scene software and annotated with field data, including species names and ecological information. The VR environment offers interactive features such as tree annotations, tools for estimating dimensions like DBH and height, and thematic tours focusing on biodiversity and forest structure. The system was tested with students to evaluate usability, engagement, and educational value through pre- and post-tests and feedback surveys. The outputs include an educational VR application, thematic learning modules, and insights to advance forestry education and public conservation awareness. This innovative approach highlights the use of TLS data as a transformative tool for developing immersive VR learning experiences in forestry education.
