要旨本文 | Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) form symbiotic associations with Cryptomeria japonica (Cupressaceae). We aimed to reveal its main AMF taxa and clarify their ecology. We used plant barcoding and fungal metabarcoding on root and soil samples from three environmentally different sites in central Japan over five years. We detected 2,155 operational taxonomic units (OTUs) of AMF including 134 and 34 major and dominant OTUs, respectively (average relative abundance > 1% and 10%), in the roots of C. japonica. The occurrence of the dominant OTUs suggested intra-radical competition or complementarity, seasonal and spatial shifts between root and soil habitats, and microhabitat-dependent transitions to neighboring herbaceous plants. They belonged to Dominikia, Glomus, Microkamienskia, Rhizophagus, Sclerocystis, and unknown taxa of Glomeraceae. These AMFs must be isolated, described, and tested on C. japonica seedlings. |
