要旨本文	Ridge-to-reef landscapes of Solomon Islands are under increasing pressure from forest degradation. This necessitates forest monitoring efforts. However, several factors including the region's archipelago, islands’ rugged terrain and dense vegetation, and limited resources hinders physical monitoring efforts. This study investigates the potential of remote sensing and GIS for monitoring forest cover within Solomon Islands. Utilizing satellite imageries between 2015 and 2023, maps were generated to identify patterns and extent of forest change while statistical analysis quantified the change, thus, providing insights into potential drivers of forest degradation. Results detected forest change patterns, extent and locations. Statistics showed increasing forest degradation and regrowth rates. In conclusion, this study reveals the power of remote sensing for forest monitoring, and alongside traditional methods, to comprehend whether detected changes constitute actual forest degradation.
