要旨本文	Forest management practices significantly influence site quality in plantation forests, affecting their ecological and economic sustainability. This study investigates the effects of forest management practices on the site quality of Japanese cedar and cypress plantations in Japan, focusing on four key management categories: initial silvicultural practices, stem exclusion practices, pest and wildlife management, and land management. Principal component analysis was employed to identify the importance of these practices in determining site quality of plantations. Site quality of Japanese cedar was affected by these four key management categories, while the site quality of Japanese cypress was only affected by three management categories, except land management. Our findings will enhance site quality and long-term productivity in plantations. Therefore, our study recommends continuing these practices to foster sustainable forest ecosystems.
