要旨本文 | Biogenic Volatile Organic Compounds (BVOCs), mainly composed of isoprene, are emitted from plants in response to light and temperature. BVOCs emitted from leaves of eight tree species were collected by the leaf cuvette method with a portable photosynthesis measurement device (LI-6400, Li-Cor) and identified and quantified using GC-MS (QP2010 SE, Shimadzu). Simultaneously, net photosynthetic rates were measured. In addition, leaf pigment composition was analyzed at different light intensities. The calculation of DPS (xanthophyll cycle in the de-epoxidized state), which is considered a measure of heat release, showed interspecific differences. We measured the diurnal changes in isoprene emission rates of two isoprene emitter species. Diurnal changes in isoprene emission were well synchronized with sunlight intensity and also with changes in photosynthetic rate. These results indicated that isoprene synthesis is maintained during times of high photosynthetic rate under intense light. |
